Maduro turns the screw on Guaidó
Venezuela’s de facto government is ratcheting up the pressure on the
widely recognised interim president Juan Guaidó with a legal fusillade.
At a personal level, not only is Guaidó being investigated for treason in
two separate cases but he also stands accused of forging links with the
Colombian narcoparamilitary group Los Rastrojos. President Nicolás
Maduro opened up another front against Guaidó at a political level this
week when it announced an accord with a minority opposition group
intended to divide the traditionally fragmented movement he has
worked hard to unite.
