The bioeconomy in all of its dimensions (bioproducts, biorefineries, biotechnology and, more particularly, biofuels) has a decisive role to play in our economic future by providing the means for sustainable development, that is, economic and social development in line with the protection of the environment and the fight against climate change.
In particular, there is a lot of potential for international cooperation in the transport sector, where cutting greenhouse gas emissions has been particularly challenging. Exchange of information and best practices, knowledge-sharing in public policies and trade and investment opportunities are the main outcomes of a deeper interaction on bioeconomy and biofuels among countries.
The presentation from this Conference on Advanced Biofuels and Bioeconomy – promoted by the Brazilian Embassy in London and Canning House with the support of Imperial College, and organized by the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil) and the Brazilian Sugarcane Industry Association (UNICA) – which sought to foster a wide, frank dialogue among relevant stakeholders in Brazil, the UK and other like-minded countries on the potential for advanced biofuels and the bioeconomy, are available via the following links:
