Costa Rica has already been to the polls for the first round of its presidential elections. Over the course of the year, a total of 420 million people will be called to the polls in nine countries of Latin America, with presidential elections taking place in Paraguay, Colombia, Mexico, Brazil and Venezuela, as well as Costa Rica. By the end of 2018, a very different political landscape could have emerged across the region. This event will be an opportunity to dissect the overall picture and identify the main players and key issues that will shape the 2018 election season in Latin America.

Canning House is delighted to welcome representatives from our partners LLORENTE & CUENCA and LatinNews to speak: Claudio Vallejo, Senior Director of LLORENTE & CUENCA's LatAm desk in Madrid; Jon Farmer, editor of the Latin American Weekly Report at LatinNews; and Eleanor Warnick, editor of the Brazil and Southern Cone Regional Report at LatinNews. They will base their presentation on LL&C's report '2018 Latin American Elections: Who, When, What' and LatinNews' 'Election Watch Special Report: who is competing for power in 2018'.
