Canning House is delighted to welcome Dr Guillaume Long, the Ecuadorian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Human Mobility to deliver a lecture on “The response of the Latin American Left to Regional Challenges: Lessons from Ecuador.”
On March 03, 2016, Guillaume Long was appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs and Human Mobility of Ecuador. The Ecuadorian Foreign minister has a Ph.D. from the Institute for the Studies of the Americas, of the University of London and a Bachelor Degree in History from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London.
In April 2015, he was appointed Minister of Culture and Heritage until March 2016.
Between 2013 and 2015, he was Coordinating Minister of Knowledge and Human Talent, and President of the Board of the Board of Evaluation, Accreditation and Quality Assurance of Higher Education (CEEACES) from 2011 to 2013. Between 2010 and 2011, he was Advisor to the National Secretary of Planning and Development.
