Launch of Jimmy Burns' latest book: 'Cristiano & Leo'

On Tuesday 29th May, Canning House was delighted to host the launch of author and journalist Jimmy Burns' latest book: Cristiano & Leo, The Race to Become the Greatest Football Player of All Time. This dual biography looks at two of the past decade's best football players, Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.

Ian Perrin, representing Canning House, kicked off the evening introducing the two speakers, Jimmy Burns and Paddy Harverson, formerly Sports' Correspondent at the Financial Times and Communications Director for Manchester United. They engaged in a lively and interesting conversation, discussing many topics covered in the book including Messi's relationship with Diego Maradona, and both Ronaldo and Messi's childhoods. Jimmy Burns' publisher, Jamie Coleman from Pan Macmillan, also said a few words about the origins of the book. Paddy Harverson ended by asking Jimmy Burns who he thinks the greatest player is - the answer is to read the book to find out!
