A joint event with the Anglo Argentine Society Borges on Language, Poetry and Truth by Dr Humberto R. Núñez Faraco Wednesday 12th July at 7pm (Reception 6:30pm) at the Embassy of Argentina - 65 Brook Street, London, W1K 4AH Through a reading of key poems, essays and works of fiction, this lecture will explore the connections between literary language and poetic truth which Borges so fervently maintained throughout his work.

Canning House is delighted to welcome the UK's Ambassador to Bolivia, HE James Thornton, to give a round-table briefing on the political and economic situation in Bolivia, as well as on the business environment and opportunities for trade and investing in the country. Ambassador Thornton has been in the role for just over a year having taken up his appointment in January 2016.

This is a joint event with Ipsos MORI and hosted by Eversheds Sutherland. It will aim to highlight the socio-political and economic trends in Latin America. The event will begin with a presentation by Alfredo Torres, Executive President of Ipsos, Peru, followed by a panel discussion with Jonathan Glennie, Director of Sustainable Development at Ipsos MORI; Professor Julia Buxton, Comparative Politics at the School of Public Policy, Central European University; Dr Meredith Crowley, Lecturer in the Faculty of Economics, University of Cambridge; and chaired by Giles Paxman, Canning House Trustee and former British Ambassador to Spain and Mexico.
