The presentation of the Inter-American Development Bank's 2017 Latin American and Caribbean Macroeconomic Report: Canning House and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) invite you to the London launch of Routes to Growth in a New Trade World the IDB’s 2017 Latin American and Caribbean Macroeconomic Report.

Canning House is delighted to welcome Argentina's Ambassador to the UK, His Excellency Renato Carlos Sersale de Cerisano, to give a round-table briefing on Argentina's politics, economy and business climate. Two years into the Mauricio Macri presidency, which has sought to open up the country's economy and alleviate its economic woes, this briefing will assess how things are going.

The next Canning Paper will focus on the predicament currently affecting Venezuela, taking an in-depth analysis of the country’s economy, and political and social situation. The paper will also consider potential scenarios and implications such as how the policies currently being pursued by the radical leftist PSUV faction will pan out; factional infighting within the PSUV; and opposition winning power –either as a result of a military coup or by electoral means in the December 2018 election.
