Canning House in conjunction with the Institute of Latin American Studies is pleased to announce a new series of talks taking a look at Britain’s relationship with Latin America throughout the 20th Century. This is the third instalment of the series. Despite a long history of relations between Latin America and London through trade, diplomacy and and exile, only relatively recently has the movement of Latin Americans to the city grown in large numbers.
Events
Canning House is organising a panel of speakers to discuss the US presidential election and the potential impacts of its result on US-Latin America relations, as well as the implications for, and the voting tendencies of, the Latin American diaspora in the United States.
Events
The event will take place in the Senate Room at the University of London on the 20th of October from 6:00 to 8:00 pm and it’s open to all university students and registered guests. It will include talks by recognized experts on Rubén Darío and other literary figures pre and post the Modernism literary movement, that either influenced or carried the legacy of Darío until today. There will be a poetry reading after the presentations, followed by a drinks reception to celebrate this important occasion
